Good overview and explanation. I bought min with 16g-wifi & looks like 32G is a better option for a longtime. One question I have is that does ForeFlight works with other GPS receivers and would status will work with other apps? Assuming that after a year or so, if I decide to change app, do I need to purchase new receiver (except in Garmin case)?

Yes, ForeFlight is compatible with all the external iPad GPS receivers currently available. And yes, Stratus is designed to work exclusively with the ForeFlight app, which contributes to its excellent performance, reliability and ease of use.
