Fix coming soon for iOS 8.3 GPS bug
The annual Apple developer conference is taking place this week in California, and as expected Apple released details on the new iOS 9 operating system for iPhone and iPad. This update will be available for download in the fall and includes a collection of new apps, features and overall improvements. Most notable is the addition of true multitasking for iPad that will allow you to run 2 apps side-by-side. For example you could run a moving-map app on the left side of the screen and a checklist app on the other half.
While these new features will be a welcome addition and we all love free updates, there are still a lot of pilots waiting for an intermediate update to address the external GPS bug that was introduced in the iOS 8.3 update a few months back. Fortunately our friends at Bad Elf are on the scene at the Apple developer conference and received confirmation that a fix will be in iOS 8.4 and available by June 30th. You can sign up for iOS 8.4 email notifications and read more on the Bad Elf blog.
