Sporty’s has teamed up with PilotWorkshops to deliver the most complete flight review experience yet—and it’s now available inside the industry-leading Sporty’s Pilot Training app for iPhone, iPad, Android, AppleTV, and Roku.
The new Real World Flight Review course combines two proven programs into one powerful package: Sporty’s Flight Review course and PilotWorkshops’ Real World VFR. Together, they cover both the knowledge and the real-world flying skills you need to stay sharp and confident.

Start with Sporty’s Flight Review course, featuring over two and a half hours of engaging video and 3D animations covering key topics like weather, regulations, airspace, and aeromedical factors. You’ll also earn the ground training endorsement required for your flight review after passing the included quiz.

Then, climb into the right seat with PilotWorkshops for ten “fly-along” lessons that take you on real VFR adventures—from landing at Boston Logan to navigating the Hudson River Corridor. Each flight includes a full briefing, real-time ATC communications, and an in-depth debrief to reinforce what you’ve learned.

The result is a truly immersive review of both the why and the how of safe flying.
The Real World Flight Review is available now for an introductory price of $99, and existing users of the Pilot Training app can access it immediately on all platforms.

I am not sure I understand this offer. A biennial flight review requires both an oral part and a flying part. Does this offer constitute the oral part of a BFR to the extent that the CFI evaluating a pilot’s flying skills will simply accept the Sporty’s certificate as evidence of the pilot’s having effectively completed the oral part, therefore relieving the CFI of the responsibility for that aspect of the BFR? And is that process somehow defined in or authorized by FARs?
THE CERTIFICATE FROM SPORTY’S MAY SERVE AS THE ORAL PORTION OF THE REVIEW- THIS IS ENTIRELY AT THE DESCRETION OF THE CFI. I HAVE HAD ONE BFR WHERE THIS OCCURRED- WE SKIPPED THE ORAL EXAM BASED ON THE CERT.
HOWEVER- THE ground training endorsement IS GIVEN ONCE- YOU HAVE TO RE-PURCHASE THE COURSE TO GET ANOTHER FOR YOUR NEXT BFR- THIS IS BASED ON MY EXPERIANCE. YOU CAN RESET THE QUIZZES, ETC BUT ONLY ONE CERT.
