Sporty’s Pilot Training app now available for Apple computers

Sporty’s Pilot Training platform started with just a few online courses over a decade ago and today has grown into an extensive library of over thirty HD/4K video and test prep courses. Downloading the Pilot Training App

Similar to your iPhone and iPad, Apple includes a dedicated App Store app on its computers which allows you to download and install both paid and free applications. If you’re an existing Sporty’s user, sign in with your training account and you’ll have immediate access to all previously purchased courses. All video and test prep progress will instantly sync up and you’ll be able to pick up right where you left off. You can also purchase access to any of the courses directly from the app for instant access (most of the courses offer lifetime access and free future updates).

The Pilot Training app for Mac was designed to work offline too, making it a great travel companion when traveling on the airlines or when an internet connection isn’t available. The test prep components are automatically saved for offline use when downloading the app, and you can then download videos from individual courses to your Mac’s hard drive (just like downloading charts in ForeFlight) for offline playback:

Another useful feature to check out is the free FAA handbook library included in the app. Launch the “preview” mode for the Learn to Fly, Instrument or Commercial Pilot Courses, and you’ll have full access to all the FAA handbooks pertinent to each course. Each handbook is presented in a powerful PDF viewer and includes search, bookmarking and annotation features.
