The iPad is one of the best consumer tablets on the market for pilots, thanks to its bright screen, great battery life and aviation application support. It’s not perfect, though, and our latest video tip explores a few of the”gotchas” that can sneak up on you if you’re not careful.
Good job on this video! I have experienced all those problems first-hand. I would add one thing, you mentioned updates to programs which you want to do manually, very true but I would stress also NOT doing Apple IOS updates as well until you know for a fact there is no issue with your Stratus or Dual etc…This happened to me, I updated my mini to next iOS and the mini would not communicate with my Dual xgps 150. Luckily I had my wife’s mini that was still on earlier version. Btw there is no way to downgrade to older iOS system once you upgrade..I had to use wife’s iPad for 3 months . So if it’s working fine, don’t jump at first chance to new iOS until people have checked it out!
