Sporty’s has crowned the winner of its 50 Fun Flying Destinations summer flying challenge, and it’s safe to say he made the most of the season. Congratulations to Charles Blondeau, who took home a ForeFlight Sentry Plus ADS-B Receiver after a memorable cross-country adventure.

Charles and a friend launched from the East Coast in a Piper Arrow with a simple goal: explore, discover, and enjoy the freedom of general aviation. Their journey took them all the way to Alaska, with plenty of memorable stops along the way—including several from Sporty’s 50 Fun Flying Destinations guide.

“The timing of the Fun Flying guide was perfect,” Charles told us. “It gave us great ideas for interesting airports and fun local attractions along our route.”

Some of his contest-qualifying stops included:

  • Benton, Kansas (1K1 – Lloyd Stearman Field Airport)
  • Denver, Colorado (APA – Centennial Airport)
  • Custer, South Dakota (CUT – Custer County Airport)
  • Oshkosh, Wisconsin (OSH – Wittman Regional Airport)
  • Luray, Virginia (LUA – Luray Caverns Airport)
  • Nashville, Tennessee (JWN – John C. Tune Airport)

Each location offered its own unique experience—from mountain views to aviation history—and each one was easy to plan thanks to the custom ForeFlight content pack included with Sporty’s free guide.
