2015-07-14 17.08.56The official 2015 EAA AirVenture Oshkosh show app hit the Apple and Android app stores recently and has everything you need to travel to and get the most out of the action-packed aviation event in Oshkosh, Wisconsin. This year’s app was developed directly by EAA and includes a major overhaul to last year’s version to make the app more reliable, simplify and streamline navigation and improve battery life.

To help with your trip planning, the app includes a complete travel section with detailed info on driving, commercial air service, and of course, flying directly in to Oshkosh. The complete Oshkosh NOTAM is included for arrival and departure procedures as well as detailed ATC information and even special FBO offers. It’s perfect for in-flight reference and does not require an internet connection.

The app includes complete schedules of all the various activities, including the daily air shows, seminars, workshops, concerts, movies, evening events and more. You can pull out the seminars, workshops and other activities you don’t want to miss and compile the list into a “My Stuff” section. And a First Timer section helps new guests identify must-see events and attractions on the AirVenture grounds.

Once at the show, the AirVenture Oshkosh app has plenty of maps: the convention grounds, the campgrounds, exhibit halls, aircraft displays and more. The main grounds map is “GPS-enabled”, allowing you to see your position on the map in relation to all the depicted activities, services and points of interest. The app also features an interactive exhibitors list with detailed hangar and exhibit area maps.

To help you stay connected, the app includes several different social media channel feeds. You can share activities, images or video with social media accounts, including Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. You can listen to EAA radio directly in the app and read AirVenture news articles posted by EAA. And like last year you can receive push notifications directly on your device. These will keep you up to date and alerted with schedules changes, weather, traffic, upcoming events and more.

EAA AirVenture runs from July 20 through July 26, and is located at the Oshkosh Airport in Wisconsin.
