Sporty’s flight training apps add new achievement features
Sporty’s Learn to Fly Course app works on iPhone and iPad, and allows you to stream and download videos.
Sporty’s industry-leading Private Pilot Learn to Fly app received its second big update for 2014, adding a series of new progress tracking and social media sharing features. These features are designed to keep students motivated and engaged while studying with the course and allow them to easily share accomplishments with their CFI, family or friends. Here’s a quick look at this and other new features in the app:
- Enhanced progress tracking — a new dedicated page in the app allows you to quickly view your progress in the course with one glance. In addition to seeing video completion progress for each of the course’s Private, Sport and Recreational Pilot modules, students will see a list of completed written test prep sessions and scores. Each report includes a sharing feature that allows you to share your scores with your flight instructor or mentor using Facebook, Twitter, instant message or email.
- Flight Training Achievements — Sporty’s Learn to Fly app comes with a comprehensive collection of training tools, including over 15 hours of video training, 3 written test prep modes, animated flight maneuvers guide, written study guide and a video-based Practical Test Standards (PTS). The new achievements section of the app keeps track as you complete milestones in each of these sections and provides manageable goals as you work towards your pilot certificate. Each achievement can also be easily shared using Facebook, Twitter, instant message or email options.
- High-resolution FAA Test Prep Figures — Pilots will appreciate the new full-color high resolution test prep images now available in the course, making them easier to read and interpret when studying FAA test questions.
- Video segment review quizzes — To help reinforce the content in the video training section of the app, quizzes were added to select videos containing questions from the FAA test. This is a fast way to review as you watch the videos.
