Apple releases iOS 6.1 software update for iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch
Apple released a small iOS software update for the iPhone and iPad today, bringing it up to version 6.1. This update appears to primarily add new features and contains some bug fixes. Here’s the official listing of what’s new from Apple:
- LTE support for more carriers (complete list of supported carriers at www.apple.com/ipad/LTE/)
- Purchase movie tickets through Fandango with Siri (USA only)
- iTunes Match subscribers can now download individual songs from iCloud
- New button to reset the Advertising Identifier
As with all iOS software updates, we recommend waiting a few days before installing to hear if there are any compatibility issues with your favorite aviation apps running on the new iOS. When you’re ready to perform the update, first manually back up your device either to iCloud or to a computer running iTunes. Then go to the Settings app on your iPad and select General from the list on the left side of the screen. Select Software Update from the top, and then tap the button labeled Download and Install. This file size of the update is pretty small so it should only take a few minutes to download.
We’re installing the update now and will report back if we run into any issues with the popular aviation apps running on iOS 6.1.
Why can’t the IPAD first gen be upgraded to 6.0 or 6.1
Jim, Apple has limited iOS 6 software updates to iPad 2 and newer.
I cannot open the apps store and iTunes after updating to iOS 6.1
Updated both ipad and iphone to 6.1 and now I cannot update any of my applications from the i-store. Seen no notice from Apple on this – very poor !!!
Updated ipad this morning (6.30am) with no problems, have just updated iPhone 10.30pm, it is not accepting my password resulting in
no iMessage, iCloud, etc, no App Store, no iTunes, please help!!!
Installed 6.1 on ipad-4. App Store is now dead !!!

I just try to update my ipod touch this morning to ios 6.1, but now i can’t even open my ipod and there’s always an apple icon appear and then disappear again and again. What should i do right now?
After updating to 6.1 (my Iphone), i cannot open Update page on App Store. Its shows i have 6 updates but page doesnt load.

My iPad tells me “Account Not in This Store. Your account is not valid for use in the Canadian store. You must switch to the U.S. store before purchasing.” Is this part of the same problem with the update?
